Interesting new Hydroponic Herb

Garden

Created by Ana Arguezo, the Spice Versa concept is a hanging system that

grows organic herbs right inside your own home. With its compact design, it

doesn’t take up much space at all so it’s perfect for a small condo or

apartment. The Spice-Versa hangs from a wall or ceiling and can grow up to 6

different kinds of herbs at once. It comes with a mercury spot light and

biodegradable plant gel, which provides all the nutrients and water that growing

plants require.

The best part about the Spice-Versa is that herbs can be grown year round

without worry about weather conditions or garden pests. To boot, its sleek

design adds ambiance to any room and keeps the surrounding air smelling fresh

and aromatic.

UPDATE ON OUR 2 RESEARCH PROJECTS

1. LED TRIALS:

The tomato under the 432watt 7-band LED got a horrible case of aphids, which we

tried to eradicate without success. We ended up taking it out to the compost

pile, disinfecting everything and making sure there were no aphids left in the

grow closet. We are going to start all over with this lamp with a new plant a

little later.

In the meantime, we went on and set up the

Spectrum King SK450

(full-spectrum) with a new tomato plant. This is what it looks like at day #18:

2. Hoops of Hope (Our original Hydroponic SURVIVAL GREENHOUSE)

4 complete hydroponics setups in the our greenhouse are still going crazy! [top drip Bato

buckets, Ebb & Flow, lettuce raft, and 5 gallon bubbler

bucket].  This is

what the crops look like this week, we have started harvesting green beans,

cucumbers, peppers and lettuce:
