What is the best nutrient solution?

by Kit C
(Menomonie, WI)

I'm just getting started with hydroponics and I'm using two different systems: One is a wicking system I "invented" myself and the other is an ebb and flow system that is quite nice. I'm growing peppers in both systems. Do I need to use a different nutrient solution in the different systems? Should I change the nutrient solution more frequently in the larger system or the smaller system (same plants).

Answer from Stella/Simon:
Hi Kit,
You can use the same solution in both setups, and will need to change out the ebb and flow nutrients more often because they are reused over and over. Most wick systems don't require changeout, the solution is just used up then replaced.

Hope this helps!
