I seem to be challenged my my water readings, pH & PPM. I'm running a Dutch Bucket system. Cut way back cuz of the winter time. Only have 2 buckets on with tomatoes presently. Circulation intervals are 45 minutes 3 X a day, 0600 hrs, 1400 hrs, and 2000 hrs. My challenge is, the pH consistently decreases, so I add pH Up. With that the PPM goes up. Next day, the pH is again down, indicating that I should add pH Up. The PPM is higher than I usually run it at. Speaking of that, my normal pH is 5.8 to 6.5, that is what I want it at. The PPM is usually at 1050 to 1100. Currently I am using a reservoir heater, to maintain the water temp at 60 to 65 degrees F.
Each time I add pH Up the PPM level increases. What am I doing wrong? Please advise. Here is the ZINGER, normally, when I have the whole system on operation, 8 buckets to each reservoir, the numbers are much more stable. My system is a SOLEXX Greenhouse, 8' X 12', the OASIS model. Presently with outside temps averaging in the high 40's to mid 50's, the inside temp is staying around mid 60's. God only knows what will happen when winter really gets here. I'm crossing my fingers. This is our first year at hydroponic gardening. What a fantastic Spring, Summer and Fall.
