by Amy
(US)

My daughter is wanting to do her science fair project on hydroponics. We are building a soda bottle Hydroponic system, Will green beans grow well in this system. We know they are usually easy to grow in soil and I do Not have much of a green thumb..so we need to grow the easiest thing there is to grow. She is going to do a comparison to soil grown plants. Something that grows quickly her science fair is Mar 7

Answer from Stella:

Hi Amy,
Glad to hear of young'uns showing interest in hydroponics! It's a lot of fun and makes a great science fair project. I think green beans are a great choice for your project, the large seeds will not get lost in the media while they sprout.

Just make sure to get "bush" type beans, not vining.

Good luck to you!
Stella
