Problem: Plant roots submerged for extended period of time

by jerika
(cortez, colorado)

I use an ebb and flow bucket system for my plants. I woke up this morning and realized that yesterday I stupidly I forgot to plug in the pump that drains the nutrient solution from the controller bucket back into the reservoir. So my plants had been sitting in the solution for a good three hours before I realized it. I use rockwool as my growing medium, so they probably soaked up quite a bit of solution. I really hope I didn't drown the roots. does anyone have any suggestions or advice??

From Simon,

You are probably fine, but should definitely invest in a timer for the pump, just a pin-type timer is under $20 at Home Depot or Walmart.
Good luck to you!
