Hydroponics Outdoor system

Hello , I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am a horticulturist and have 5 hothouse's with UV Defused Plastic Sheeting. All have misting irrigation systems My property is sloped downwards with an old inused swimming pool at the bottom of the garden and the hothouse's on the top half. Could I set-up a large scale operation using my swimming pool as my reservoir?

Answer from Stella/Simon:
Wow, Malcolm, not quite sure, as we have never done such a large scale operation, just small individual gardens.
Don't see why this wouldn't work, but I think for such a large scale farm, you might want to hire an experienced designer or consultant.
Just a few thoughts... I strongly recommend covering your swimming pool, completely blocking all light using black piping between the pool and your hothouses. This will stop algae growing in nutrient solution. For plants that do not like humid conditions...it might be an idea to replace the misting system with a drip system.
Hope this helps!
