How to fix Hydroponic plants that drop leaves

by Hema
(India)

Hello, We have a hydroponic top fed garden that is doing well, except our pepper plants are dropping leaves. How can we prevent that from happening?

--------------------------------------------------

Answer from Stella/Simon:

Hi Hema,

If mature leaves that appear healthy suddenly start to fall off, it is a sign that the environment is too hot. Attempting to hydroponically grow in a warm environment will adversely affect the root structure of the plant and inhibit proper growth.

Mature leaves that curl up on themselves indicates that the temperature is too cold for the plant - which will stunt growth. Any irregular tinting on the leaves or blotching is also a sign that the environment is too cold.

Hope this helps!
