How Long Will a Tomato Plant Produce?

by Mark
(Cincinnati)

Hi,

Here in Southern Ohio we get our first frosts around
mid-October, which ends production. Since it probably
won't front in my basement and I can control growing
conditions, how many months should I expect an indeterminate
tomato plant to produce?

Thanks,

Mark

How long?
by: Andrea

I just saw a hydroponic tomato greenhouse episode on "How its Made" and the showed a commercial set up. They did not give the length of time that the tomatoes will grow, but a fact stuck in my head....They will grow to 36 feet. YES, not a mistake.....36 feet. That is why they train them on a string to the ceiling and keep dropping it 3 foot or so and wrapping the stem around the bottom of the pots.
