How do you mix up nutrients?

Hi! I'm interested in setting up my own hydroponics. I already understand how it is done however there's not much information about the formula on how to create the nutrient solution. Please help!

Hi Diva,
Creating your own nutrient solution would be much more complicated and expensive than just buying a solution ready-made for hydroponics. Since no soil is used, the nutrients you use must provide a dozen different minerals in the right ratio.

Doing it in the Tropics

Hi Diva,

I have been growing in Thailand for 2 years.
So we mostly have the same problems.
Mixing your fertlizer is not a big deal, most suppliers of hydroponic fertilizer in this area of the world will give you A & B mixed in 10 liter amounts. Or if you are thinking of doing thing on a larger scale they will give you a recipe and being off a few grams is really not a big deal, mixing 50 liters or more at one time. There are some special considerations that you really must be prepared for if you are growing in the Tropics, if you indicate what you plan to try I will put in my 2 cents, if I have tried growing that plant. MIXING HYDRO NUTRIENTS

Hi Diva!
Mixing your own hydro nutrients is not an easy task. I have done it myself and it needs a lot of computations because we deal with parts per million (ppm)for the different elements. However, I am testing my own formulated hydro nutrients with initial promising results. In the Philippines, hydroponics is still in its infancy and it is better to purchase ready mixed fertilizers (usually Stocks A and B).
