Herbs

I was wanting to know what system is best for herbs? I want to plant basil, mint, stevia, rosemary, dill, thyme, orgeano, cilantro. Should I use the ebb and flow, lettuce raft, dutch buckets or bubbler method. I eventually want to get into lettuce so I also wanted to know if I can use the lettuce raft for herbs?
Thank you so much can't wait to hear back.

Hi Stephen,
Unfortunately, the lettuce raft is not the best system for an herb garden. Why not? Because, herbs are a long-term thing, and the lettuce raft is best for fast-growing and rapid pick lettuces and greens. Ebb and flow is best suited to big, deep rooted crops like tomatoes, peppers or squash. My best pick for a variety herb garden would be a top bubbler. Or you might even consider an herb garden unit specially suited for the purpose. These free-standing units are compact and can be plugged in right on your kitchen counter for easy harvest while cooking.
But, the herb units are for small scale production. If you want to grow a larger-scale production system, build a top feed bubbler system. Here's more info on the herb gardens:

Good luck and have fun!
