Greenhouse conversion

by Brian
(Galway)

I've got a raised bed greenhouse for winter vegetables and herbs. I'm thinking of beginning to experiment with a hydro setup. Are there any means of transitioning somewhat smoothly from soil to hydro? Perhaps systems that are "halfway" so I can learn the basics before taking the plunge? This is a 48 sq foot space.

Answer from Stella/Simon:

Dear Brian,

I am sorry, but there are no real "transition" type gardens that I know of. You either use soil, or you don't!

My suggestion for a beginning hydroponic garden that size is to consider an ebb and flow table or else a system of top-feeder pots.

Hope this helps!
