Do I have to change nutrient solution?

by Tim
(Central Illinois)

I'm new to the craft and need some guidance. I've read that you should freshen your nutrient solution almost weekly with full changes periodically. I only have a few plants growing in 18 gallon totes (DWC) and the TDS/EC readings are still in the optimal ranges and it's been about 3 weeks now.

Water level has dropped about an inch from when I started but the plants have very developed root systems so I don't think I need to worry about "topping off". Do I?

Do I need to pump water out and add new/fresh? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Growing tomatoes and peppers. All look very good. Growing fast! EC is around 3.58 consistently and they seem to love it right now.

Answer from Stella/Simon:

Hi Tim,
We recommend this simple nutrient solution maintenance system:

MAINTAINING HYDROPONICS NUTRIENTS

Hope this helps!
