Can I grow chillies using hydroponics?

I have started experimenting with hydroponics in an urban landscape. Being in an experimental stage I would like to start of cultivating chillies using hydroponics. Is it achievable?

The science of hydroponics is about cultivating plants without soil. The common misconception is that chili plants require soil for cultivation. We have been successful in cultivating chilies using hydroponics where the plants roots are simply suspended in a liquid nutrient solution. Generally the yield has been higher than traditional soil based cultivation. And, the chilies do taste as hot and spicy as the soil rooted ones!
